Tetris + Jenga = 99 Bricks
It seems flash games that use physics are every the rage these days. We’ve talked about a few before, but this one… this one right here, 99 Bricks? Easily the best out of every of them. However, 99 Bricks throws in some fun physics. The challenge? Build the tallest tower you can using the Tetris blocks, as it precariously

HYPERCUBE, an experimental game by Canadian experimental games troupe Kokoromi, is based on a similar premise. Only, it's not a joke, and it looks really, really chilly. The object of the game is as follows:

This is apropos of nothing in particular. It has just been a while since I tried to post an embedded YouTube video. Once upon a time these were car-playing in some browsers; a source of some irritation. I would quite like to posting links this way, however, so would be grateful for feedback on mileage. In return: Tetris.

Is blogging new gaming?
I remember reading an article years ago. Not even online – onpaper. :) It discussed why people play computer games and main idea was that gaming is to feel that you matter . Sounds like blogging a bit? Or not? Read on. Looking to matter Gaming allows person to escape for some time in realm with lower demands and higher stakes. Doesn’t really matter is it saving the world or simulating pie-making. Complex real world ladder of achievements is replaced with simple ladder of game setting. Why

Frenzic Frenzy
If you haven’t played Frenzic, go do so. It’s like a drug — in fact, I’m fighting the urge to play as I write this. Part Simon, part Tetris and part Meteos, Frenzic is a frantic and frenzied fun-fest, and it certainly deserves this system replacement icon set by standby artist Louie Mantia, the most recent recruit to the Iconfactory (congratulations!). The set utilizes the fluorescent purple, green and orange of the Frenzic pie set against a midnight blue for a truly exciting and eye-catching t

Game addictiveness is a real problem
We have every done it. Played a game right through the night. The first time for me was Game Boy Tetris. Which was probably a good thing in that this game was proven to increase brain activity. Like Brian Age, but 20 years earlier. Of course Tetris was a linear game and the Game Boy was a stadalone device. These days, with connectivity and non linearity, games are vastly more addictive. We every also know someone who has dropped out of education to some degree because their gaming took up too mu
